Aims for achieving insport Partnerships Bronze Standard

The Case Officer and lead officer will meet to discuss appropriate support to demonstrate each of the insport aims.


Aims:

1. Workforce Development

  • Review all organisation staff Job Descriptions to ensure they refer to inclusion and equity responsibilities​​​​​​

  • To ensure all staff briefing(s) reflect inclusive messages and practice

  • Establish training requirements for the wider network of staff relating to inclusion and/or disability sport

  • To implement UK Disability Inclusion Training (or equivalent) for all individuals identified in the training requirements process

  • To ensure that all staff working with stakeholders can advocate and support the development of appropriate inclusive opportunities

2. Programme Support

  • To ensure that the participant’s pathway is inclusive

  • Ensure that website is accessible and representative of opportunities for disabled people; offering   links to exit routes and progressions.

  • Identify the accessibility range of services and facilities used by the organisation to                      deliver their offer.

3. Organisation

  • Ensure that planning documentation incorporates inclusion and/or provision to disabled people

  • All data collection methods includes requests for information relating to disability and impairment.

  • Key stakeholders relevant to disability and/or disability sport are consulted about future planning of physical activity (including sport) within your remit

  • Clear Policy published regarding the production of documentation in accessible format

  • Ensure that Safeguarding polices (for children and / or Adults at Risk) are appropriately inclusive of disabled people

  • Commitment to achieving insport Silver Standard

  • Matrix of job descriptions within the organisation and the phase of review for the addition of this focus (this might be linked to contract review dates)

  • Recruitment Policy and process (which has equality and diversity process, and expectation identified within it)

  • Mapping of current roles versus need from an inclusion perspective.

To ensure all staff briefing(s) reflect inclusive messages and practice

  • Copies of minutes (or equivalent) from team briefings/staff meetings where disability and inclusion is clearly discussed and recorded

  • Copies of (Disability) Action Plan, or other equivalent planning which reflects the delivery to disabled people

  • Staff briefing agendas

  • Copies of internal and external communications with staff and partners (i.e. newsletters, briefings, email updates, etc)

To ensure that all staff working with stakeholders can advocate and support the development of appropriate inclusive opportunities (including clubs where appropriate)
  • Development of the insport Club portal for your organisation

  • Mapping exercise for the club accreditation(s) clubs within your landscape need to do, and the intersect between their criteria and the insport Club aims

  • insport Club portal training with all staff/partners who are working with clubs

  • Staff/partners becoming lead officers for insport Club

Establish a programme of CPL for all staff relating to inclusion and/or disability sport.

  • Data from a workforce survey in which questions regarding knowledge and qualifications are asked

  • Database identifying workshop attendance and certification (including dates and expirations (where relevant))

  • Training plan/matrix

  • Staff development or Continuing Professional Learning (CPL) logs (or equivalent)

  • Records of work programme/performance review meetings (or equivalent)

To implement UK Disability Inclusion Training (or equivalent) for all individuals identified in the training requirements process

  • DSW (or equivalent) booking forms
  • Confirmation emails for workshops run, or to be delivered
  • Training Plan (if this includes detail of who will be doing what workshops/sessions)
  • Copies of certificates from those who have attended appropriate workshops/sessions

Identify the access-range of facilities used by the organisation to deliver their offer

  • Process of ensuring accessibility of venues when booking, if appropriate

  • Minutes from consultation meetings with key stakeholders relevant to disability and/or disability sport

  • Survey Monkey/online surveys and analysis of the data returned from key stakeholders

  • Email trails in which there has been discussion with CEOs or key people within the disability/disability sport organisations regarding provision, opportunity or taster opportunities.

  • Any other discussions which have been recorded in some way, and are focused on what is, or could be provided to disabled people (ideally this consultation will be with disabled people themselves as key stakeholders, but may be with representative organisations as well).

Clear Policy published regarding the production of documentation in accessible formats
  • ​Screenshots from your website where you advertise clubs/centres showing insport standards
  • Leaflets which communicate clubs/centres attainment of insport standards
  • Other mechanisms by which you promote clubs/centres who have achieved an insport standard (i.e. awards evening, insport club of the month section on your website, feature articles in newsletters or other communications, etc)
  • Alternative/Accessible Format Policy
  • Statement to go on the end, or within all public-facing documents, identifying the availability of alternative accessible documents
  • Reference to the availability of Alternative/ Accessible formats within your Recruitment Policy (and other key Policy documents)

  • Your Equity/Equality/Diversity Policy, regarding accessible formats highlighted

  • Copies of Child Welfare and Safeguarding Policy, resources, toolkit and/or statements of practice (with appropriate sections highlighted)

  • Certificate of accreditation from appropriate awarding organisations (i.e. NSPCC full stop)
  • Copies of Adults at Risk Welfare and Safeguarding Policy, resources, toolkit and/or statements of practice (Disability Sport Wales have a template Adults at Risk Policy which can be used and adapted to suit your organisation)
  • Section of the organisations website which links to Adults at Risk Welfare and Safeguarding
  • (Links to) Training provision for staff and members/customers regarding Adult at Risk and their Welfare and Safeguarding.
  • Expectations of partners if they need a Safeguarding process that they include adults at risk.
Commitment to achieving insport Silver Standard
  • Letter from Board/SLT and a Board/SLT member at panel
  • Statement on your website
  • KPIs/targets within Operational/organisational plans
