Get Out Get Active (GOGA)

Launched in 2016, the GOGA programme started providing opportunities to reach the UK’s very least active disabled and non-disabled people in fun and inclusive sport and physical activities. The programme took place in 21 locations across the UK.

We are keen to explore opportunities for engagement with specific communities within Wales where there are currently limited or fragmented offers and provide a framework for the development of insight and learning that can be shared and replicated across the UK.

The currently identified localities for delivery in Wales are;

  • Elective Home Education with Sport Pembrokeshire (Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire & parts of Powys)
  • Ethnically Diverse Communities with Street Games (Newport, Cardiff & Swansea)
  • LGBTQI+ with Pride Cymru (Flintshire, Denbighshire & Conwy)

The GOGA Programme is about much more than being active; it strengthens community spirit, increases confidence and improves mental health. The success of GOGA comes from tapping into peoples real life motivations to be physically active underpinned by the Activity Alliance ten Talk-to-me Principles.
