Para Sport Festival

The week-long multi-sport and multi-venue Para Sport Festival returned to Swansea this July, mixing competitive events featuring world-class talent, with grass roots opportunities to try sport for the first time.

The week kicked off with the introduction of Welsh Para Golf Open as they braved the tricky conditions at Langland Bay Golf Club.

insport Series: Swansea allowed people from all ages and abilities to come and try over 20 different sports. The insport Series was held at Swansea University (Singleton Campus) and was brought together by local insport Clubs and National Governing Bodies.

During the week, LC played host to the Boccia UK Team Championships . Bringing world-class talent from around the UK to compete in teams.

Growing from the success of Deaf Rugby 7s last year, Friday Night Lights dawned on Llandarcy in the form of Cymru V Scotland Deaf Football . The Home Nation fixture saw Wales come out on top taking the win 2-0.

Another returning event from 2022 was the Wheelchair Rugby Welsh Open which was hosted again by the LC.

And one of the most exciting inclusions was the introduction of Para Fencing British Open to team up at Swansea Indoor Tennis Centre with the returning Para Shooting Welsh Open . Here spectators had the opportunity to soak in two high quality competitions over the weekend.

Headlining the week-long Para Sport Festival was the 2023 World Triathlon Para Series Swansea and British Triathlon Paratri Super Series . From the world’s best paratriathletes to Great Britain’s next generation of paratriathlon talent to participants getting involved in swim, bike and run for the first time, Swansea delivered a celebration of paratriathlon at all levels of the sport and delivered a full day of swim, bike and run activity and racing.
