insport Club Lead Officer's Resource Pack
Breakdown
insport Club project focuses on three key areas and these are consistent throughout all four standards. The commitment level required for each of the standards is designed to gradually increase through each aspect, as will the level of support you will receive from your Case Officer. These three areas are:
- Workforce Development
- Programme Support
- Organisation
Through these three key focus areas, the Club will be encouraged to:
- Identify and develop pathways, networks and structures to provide opportunities for disabled people to achieve their full potential at an appropriate level (whether in participating, volunteering, coaching, or officiating).
- Ensure disabled peopleare seen as participants, volunteers, coaches, or officials, where their ability and skill level is reinforced and emphasised rather than their ‘disability’ or impairment.
- Meaningfully involve disabled people within their sport’s clubs, centres and associations.
- Develop and coordinate programmes for disabled people.
- Educate club administrators, coaches, officials and players about opportunities for including disabled people within their Club, centre or association.
- Actively and positively promote an inclusive club approach throughout all communication.
- Recognise that inclusion is about providing the most appropriate and meaningful opportunity to disabled and non-disabled people, and to use the club inclusion model to identify what would be most suited to their community and membership.
