Aims for achieving insport Club Silver Standard

Suggested support for each of the aims can be uploaded on to the insport portal. A Case Officer will have access to the portal to view any support that the organisation have uploaded against the aims for each insport Standard, and will either approve or suggest recommendations in order to achieve the aim. It is the organisation’s responsibility to facilitate the demonstration of each aim.


Aims:

1. Workforce Development

  • Have inclusive provision embedded into any role descriptions that the club uses.
  • 80% of lead coaches and volunteers have attended Disability Inclusion Training (UK DIT (C&V) or equivalent). Level 3 for lead coaches. Level 2 assistant coaches. Level 1 Club committee.

 

2. Programme Support

  • The club’s ‘Selection Policy’ is inclusive of disabled athletes across the classifications within their sport
  • The club must have a policy or statement within equity/welfare policy around personal care & support, and communicate this to all support staff, coaches, leaders and volunteers
  • To support local participation opportunities, in conjunction with appropriate bodies (e.g. Sports Development Unit, Regional Development Officers, NGBs etc) 

 

3. Organisation

  • Local contacts and partners are identified by the club, and where appropriate contacts shared with the membership
  • The Club have an up-to-date website/social media platform/information in public domain (references accessibility and alternative formats explicitly).
  • Identified individuals are signposted to appropriate pathways for development (where relevant)
  • On successful award of Silver, to make a commitment to progress to Gold within a mutually agreed time frame.

  • Statement regarding personal care and support within equity/welfare policy
  • Identification of the process for communicating the policy to all support staff, coaches and volunteers e.g. availability on the Club website, inclusion in the coach, volunteer and support staff welcome pack (if relevant), cover letter or email sent to individuals
To support local participation opportunities, in conjunction with appropriate bodies (e.g. Sports Development Unit, Regional Development Officers, NGBs etc)
  • Examples of opportunities supported such as school sessions, community events, insport series
  • Marketing materials for events supported

  • Any examples to show consideration of accessibility and explicit mention to alternative formats as needed

Identified individuals are signposted to appropriate pathways for development (where relevant)
