Aims for achieving insport Club Ribbon Standard

Suggested support for each of the aims can be uploaded on to the insport portal. A Case Officer will have access to the portal to view any support that the organisation have uploaded against the aims for each insport Standard, and will either approve or suggest recommendations in order to achieve the aim. It is the club’s responsibility to facilitate the demonstration of each aim.


Aims:

1. Workforce Development

  • The club is aware of all coaches and volunteer qualifications.

 

2. Programme Support

  • There is evidence that club collects information about the individual needs of all members, coaches, and volunteers.

 

3. Organisation

  • There is a club-wide intent to be inclusive and this is communicated appropriately (internally).
  • The club meets all governance standards relevant to their sport for safe operation.
  • There is evidence of a club welcome/new club member induction process.
  • The club communicates effectively with their members.
  • On successful award of Ribbon, to make a commitment to progress to Bronze phase within a mutually agreed time frame.

  • Coach, volunteer and participant welcome packs. 
  • Example of information form which requires the provision of information linked to demographic, equity and personal needs information. 
  • Reference to the process for gathering information relating to relevant personal information, and where and how it is held. 
  • Equality monitoring questionnaire, with identification of how frequently this is sent out, and how the data is used.

  • Written statement of inclusion
  • Verbal, written, or diagrammatic representation of the Club’s proposed method for communication of insport and inclusion​​​​​​
The club meets all governance standards relevant to their sport for safe operation.

National Governing Body affiliation and/or documentation which covers:

  • A copy of the club ‘Constitution’
  • Coaching certificate from Lead Coach
  • A current insurance certificate (this will need to be updated on an annual basis)
  • Identification of the Welfare process, and where DBS checking fits into that process.
  • Access to first aider
  • Example risk assessments for sessions
  • Copy of the Club Welfare and/or Safeguarding Policy

  • Written or diagrammatic outline of the new member process
  • Feedback from membership about the Welcome/induction process​​​​​​
The club communicates effectively with their members
  • Examples of communication methods such as website, social media, meeting minutes, letters, emails, group messaging

  • Club newsletters
On successful award of Ribbon, to make a commitment to progress to Bronze phase within a mutually agreed time frame
