insport Programme

Aim = Inclusive thinking, planning, development, and delivery

Each insport Strand is supported by an insport Toolkit

The toolkits give organisations guidance for how to deliver inclusively targeting three core areas of focus:

insport Process

  1. Complete Readiness Questionnaire (available via DSW website).
  2. DSW assigns a Case Officer and provides access to insport portal.
  3. Partner to review resources/practice, in line with areas of focus.
  4. Partner to collect relevant documents and starts to build/showcase their inclusion narrative.
  5. Partner uploads documentation to the insport portal.
  6. CO writes insport review report for insport panel members.
  7. Present insport journey to insport review panel.
  8. Receive feedback from review panel.
  9. Panel Outcome (Ribbon, Bronze, Silver, Gold)

Outcomes:

  • An equitable offer is available in all areas of physical activity (including sport)
  • Habitual thinking and autonomous work around inclusion, equality and equity
  • Raised expectations within the communities of disabled people who could be interested in sport​​​​​​

insport Process (Ribbon to Silver)

Organisations are provided with guidance and Case Officer support for each element of the following process:
 

1. Establishing the Starting Point

  • An initial meeting with insport Case Officer will discuss where the organisation is up to, attended by CEO, Chair, Board Lead, Lead Officer, lead for Performance, lead for Talent, Lead for Community, and other key stakeholders.
     

2. Preparing to Achieve the Aims

  • Create a Resource Library for the organisation within the insport Portal
  • Case Officer support
     

3. Achieving the Aims

  • Feedback - Observations are fed back as the organisation progresses
  • Final panel presentation
     

4. Forward Journey

  • Progress to the next insport Standard
  • Ongoing support from the insport Case Officer

insport Process (Gold)

Organisations are provided with guidance and Case Officer support for each element of the following process:
 

1. Establishing the Starting Point

  • An initial meeting with insport Case Officer will discuss where the organisation is up to, attended by CEO, Chair, Board Lead, Lead Officer, lead for Performance, lead for Talent, Lead for Community, and other key stakeholders.
  • Consultation - an audit of the organisation's current position and a consultation process focused on inclusive culture will identify what the targets are going forward.
  • A discussion with panel will set aims.
     

2. Preparing to Achieve the Aims

  • Create a Resource Library for the organisation within the insport Portal
  • Case Officer support
     

3. Achieving the Aims

  • Professional Conversation witha  specific panel member around area(s) of specialism
  • Feedback - Observations are fed back as the organisation progresses
  • Final panel presentation
     

4. Forward Journey

  • 24-month review
  • Ongoing support from the DSW Case Officer

Inputs

Organisations are supported on their insport journey through a range of quality assured inputs. These include, Case Officer knowledge and expertise, a wide range of insight led resources, and tools to support the process.
